Yesterday I hit my hundred pounds down mark. I have accomplished so much more than the number on the scale though. I am and have always been more than the number on the scale.

I have worked so hard and pushed myself to more limits and beyond more limits than I every imagined I could. Mentally, physically and emotionally I have put myself through the ringer. Yet, there is not a single day I regret it. Not a single minute that I am not grateful that I took this step to have a better, healthier life.

Everyone asks if I feel better or how I feel. . It’s always such a hard question to answer. I was very fortunate that my weight didn’t physically bother me. I still did most of the things i always had. But I do have more energy and enjoy more things than I was able to. I feel like I am living the life I was meant to now working on the body I was always meant to have.

Some people have not supported my decisions along the way but I have also been so blessed with a husband who stands behind me one million percent, friends and family who encourage me and push me on the days I’m not feeling very motivated and a group of nurses and doctors who are nothing less than phenomenal!

While this decision isn’t the best for everyone it was the best for me and I hope someday that my VSG journey can help someone else.

Current weight: 297

  1. I am so proud of you. You look great. I was scared when I made the decision to have gastric bypass but I was tired of being a diabetic and on the verge of using insulin. I will support you thru your journey.
