Taking a compliment.
It’s not always easy, is it? While we are human and LOVE to hear positive and uplifting things we also dismiss them and sometimes diminish them.
I am constantly working on being able to hear compliments.
Some times I have a hard time saying “thank you” when it’s necessary. I look away and make a joke, or I quickly change the subject. I am trying to learn to own my successes and triumphs in all aspects of my life, including compliments.
Because you look in the mirror and see yourself every day it’s hard to always see the changes and remember how far you have come. So when other’s notice and tell you how good you are looking and how bright and glowing you look let that serve as a reminder that you have come so far from where you were.
Let yourself be proud and accept the compliment with a thank you and a smile. Own who you are and be proud of the person you were, then and now. Remember you are worth this and the compliments are confirming all of the outside progress you are making for your inside health and well being.
Others around you will notice and your supporters will compliment you to encourage you to keep fighting. They want to share in your accomplishments and those closest to you will celebrate each success with you. Embrace this. Let them show you their love and support with their kind words. Say thank you, and tell them while you still struggle you are proud of the warrior you are.
Desiree you are a strong and beautiful young lady. Gram and I love you very much. Your accomplishments are celebrated by your family and friends. 🌜🌛🌟⭐
